The Lord is already there! (Deuteronomy 31:8) The sign that He gave Moses was the finish line! After the people had been led out of captivity and Moses was worshiping the Lord on the mountain, it would be very clear and evident that God was with him! God is all-knowing and ever-present. The Lord knew that He was going to complete this good work through Moses well in advance (Ephesians 2:10). It was already finished! But Moses, however, couldn't see the finish line. He was wondering how to get started, and the Lord was trying to show him that it was already complete!
God is such an amazing God! He not only calls us, but He also equips, encourages, and empowers us to keep moving along the path that He has laid before us (Isaiah 30:21). The enemy would love to discourage us from walking in the calling that God has placed on our lives. Perhaps, like Moses, we too have found ourselves thinking at times, "Who am I?" (Exodus 3:11) In these moments, we can take heart that He alone is our "Banner" of Victory! (Exodus 17:15) He will equip us with everything we need to accomplish His will (Hebrews 13:21). He is faithful to complete the good work that He started in each of us, even in those moments when we can't always see it (Philippians 1:6). Keep walking, keep listening, and soon we will be standing on the mountain singing His praise!
Father,
Thank You for going before us to secure our victory! Thank You for the things You prepared in advance for us to do! Help us not to lean on our own understanding. But instead, may we always rest confidently in Your promises — knowing that You will complete the good work that You started in us! We love You, Lord, and thank You in advance for the victory! In Jesus mighty and all-powerful name we pray! Amen.
