This verse became a life verse several years ago and to this day, still has a place (written with chaulk marker) on the bathroom mirror. It was a verse I began to stand on while walking through an immense life storm. At the time, it appeared as only a thread of hope. But years later, it has proven to be a steadfast and unbreakable cord of His unfailing love! It still serves as a continual reminder of His grace, mercy, and goodness! He truly does make beauty out of the ashes (Isaiah 61:3). What is impossible with man is possible with God. (Luke 18:27). The words "in proportion" in this verse still bring a smile to my face when reading it. "In proportion" might not seem like much at first glance. But for anyone who is going through a challenging season in their life, the words "in proportion" are two words that bring incredible hope to what might seem like a hopeless situation.
What if our mountain high was "in proportion" to our valley low? The truth is, it can be! No matter how grim, dark, or desperate the situation is, there is nothing that can separate us from HIs love (Romans 8:39). There is nothing that He can't use for the good (Romans 8:28). He can truly restore what the locust of this world have eaten (Joel 2:25).
Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest (Psalm 126:5-6)..
Father,
Thank You for Your unfailing love! Thank You for going before us to secure our victory! Thank You for going behind us and redeeming our past! Thank You for protecting us, guiding us, and making a way! Thank You for making beauty out of the ashes, the joy that is to come, and completing the good work that You started in each of us. We love You Lord and thank You in advance for the joyful harvest! In Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen.
