Let it Flow

Picture
Psalm 105:41 (NLT)
41 He split open a rock, and water gushed out to form a river through the dry wasteland

John 16:33 (NIV)
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Life is certainly going to have hard moments. Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble” John 16:33 (NIV). But in those moments when we find ourselves in between a rock and a hard place we can take heart knowing that God can split the rock! He uses the circumstances that once squeezed us and transforms them into something that now nourish us. He truly uses "everything to work together for the good of those who love Him" (Romans 8:28).

When we choose to hand Him the rock of our hardened hearts, His life giving fountain begins to gush from within our soul. As it flows, it brings peace and purpose to the areas of our life that may have once appeared to only be wasteland. His love will permeate every area of our lives and "rivers of living water will flow from within" us (John 7:38). Isn't it time to let it flow?

Father,
Thank you for your unfailing love! Thank you for Your eternal spring that resides within us and never runs dry! Lord, help us to continually submit our hearts and our lives to Your will and Your ways. Lead us and guide as we take the overflowing river of Your love into every dry and weary land. We love you Lord. Amen
